But despite this major setback, club chairman Geoff Goodwin remains positive about the Robins' immediate future.
He told SAM Sport: 'We are angry at the moment but we can use that to our advantage.
'This decision will bring everyone at the club together and we are determined to bounce straight back again.
'I want to go into this league now and steamroller it. We are still going to strengthen the squad and we will still go for the same players we would have done if we had been in the Conference.
'You get these kind of knocks from time to time but it's how you deal with it that counts and we are going to come back from this even stronger. People better watch out.'
After the Conference made the decision to dock Alty 18 points on April 20, the football community joined together in a massive show of strength for the the Robins.
More than 8,000 people signed a petition calling for the decision to be overturned, while the club was inundated with messages of support from fans and fellow clubs alike.
Now, Goodwin is hoping Alty can maintain this feeling of goodwill for the start of the new season.
He said: 'I hope the community will really get behind us now.
'It's important that people don't put us to one side just because we have dropped down a division now. They need to get behind us more than ever and make sure that we get back to where we belong as quickly as possible.
'We were good enough to stay in the Conference this year and that won't change next season. As far as I can see, we are a Conference side playing in the Conference North.
'Our support has been fantastic this season and I hope that doesn't change, people need to come down and support the lads again next season.'
