Now is the chance to make yourself heard Fulham fans!
Sky are covering the game on Sunday and we are expecting a bit of additional media interest, especially following today's news.
Firstly, we will be distributing a new leaflet which includes support for Back To The Cottage from Fulham legend Johnny Haynes. The leaflets also promote our public meeting on the 30th of January at Hammersmith Town Hall. Those wishing to help with the distribution of leaflets at Loftus Road please reply to this email for more details.
Secondly, we are planning a peaceful protest in South Africa Road before the game on Sunday. We urge all fans to bring their best singing voices and Back To The Cottage/take us home Mo banners. We will be protesting directly outside the main entrance/ticket office area in South Africa Road from 2.45pm onwards.
Finally, as well as getting behind the boys on the pitch and helping them get three points on Sunday, we can put our banners up in the stands and let Mo know 'there's only one Craven Cottage'!
Back To The Cottage Press Release - 16/01/03
Fulham fans' group, BacktotheCottage.com, have reacted to the latest revelations about the future of the Craven Cottage site by issuing a plea to Chairman Mohammed Al Fayed to 'take us home.'
Tom Greatrex, spokesman for BacktotheCottage.com, said 'There has been a series of revelations in the press this week over the future of the Craven Cottage site that have proved deeply worrying to many Fulham fans. Today's reports of the details of a contract agreed between the club and Fulham River Projects Limited to build luxury flats on the Craven Cottage site adds to that concern.'
'Fulham fans have repeatedly been told that we will be returning to a redeveloped stadium on the Craven Cottage site - that is what we were promised by the club, and that is what we want to see happen. The message to Mohammed Al Fayed and Fulham Football Club is very simple - take us home.'
'A Club spokesman is reported as saying today that they 'are actively pursuing an option to redevelop Craven Cottage in a more economical way.' This is described as being the 'genuine pursuit' of the Club.'
'If this is the case, and to reassure Fulham fans concerned by recent revelations, we are asking the Club to make clear their intentions for the Craven Cottage site, to update supporters on the progress of plans to rebuild the Craven Cottage site as a football stadium, to inform fans when such an application will be made to the local authority and to convince us that the contract agreed with Fulham River Projects Limited is no more than a contingency.'
'Throughout the last six months, there has been a lack of clear information and comment and a number of contradictory statements coming from the Club on this most significant of subjects. This has undoubtedly contributed to the level of suspicion amongst many fans over the intentions the Club has for the Craven Cottage site. Fulham Football Club must correct that error to prevent the further diminishing of trust between fans and Club.'
