Huddersfield Town

New life for Town

06-Aug-2003

Huddersfield Town have been given their Football League share and very soon should be out of administration. Reports Down At The Mac.
Town fans will heave a huge sigh of relief today because their club has been given the all clear from the Football League and the club are now clear to be released from administration. The agony of the last few months are now behind the Terriers and everyone concerned with the club can look forward with renewed optimism. It's not been a straightforward route out of administration and there have been several scares along the way but that's all behind us now. However that was to be expected with a debt of nearly £20 million.
Congratulations and the fans heartfelt thanks go out to all the people who have played their part in saving the club from extinction. A life without Huddersfield Town would have been unthinkable but that horrible thought can now be put behind us. I hope that this will mean a renewed belief in the team and that we can go from strength to strength as Huddersfield Town become a feared club once again in the world of football.

And the revolution starts this Saturday.......... Be there!!!!!!!

Huddersfield Town have entered administration with Begbies Traynor now responsible for running the club reports Down At The Mac.
The joint administrators will be Andrew Dick and David Acland who are from the Leeds based Begbies Traynor firm.
Now that the running of the club has been taken out of the hands of David Taylor the day to day running will be in the hands of Chris Wood, who used to play for Emley.
A lot of fans thought that the club was into debt to the tune of about £6 million as this was the figure bandied around by the chairman. However it now appears to have zoomed up to £17 million, while others say the club only owes £8 million.
No doubt the administrators will get to the bottom of all the ins and outs and root out a truthful figure.
On a brighter note the group of interested money people fronted by Paul Haigh want to have an early word with the administrators to discuss a rescue package. To go any further the group need to have full financial details something that they found a difficult task with David Taylor in charge. The newly formed Huddersfield Town Survival Trust also want to seek talks with the administrators to formulate help for their finance-stricken club.
Meanwhile David Taylor is still coming out with his wall to wall excuses as to why he couldn't do anything to sort out the club. However the decision was taken out of his hands by the players filing for administration. Taylor says he wants to stay and help the administrators in their survival plans. The fans will have another view

Huddersfield Town's chairman, David Taylor, has said that there is a real danger of the club going under in the next few days.
Is it for real or is he crying wolf ?Asks Down at the Mac website.
They report that David Taylor has some meetings this week that could make or break the club. He is having discussions with Kirklees Stadium Development Ltd that run the Mcalpine Stadium and also more talks are due with the PFA. He threatens that if these meetings do not go in Town's favour then he can see the club going under. Whether he means liquidation or administration he doesn't say.
It seems that he is talking to KSDL because he thinks that they are too dependent on Town and they should increase their own activities. He added that the stadium is far too expensive for the club. But surely when he took over the club he knew that this was the case and it should have been part of his planning strategy
He says he is still trying to negotiate with potential investors. But it appears that former director Paul Haigh has investors who would take part in the club if they knew what the financial situation was and Taylor stood aside. The present chairman seems very reluctant to part with his insider knowledge..
Taylor says that in addition to the club's debts there is now £1 million to find to pay the players wages from December to July. It appears that he has been bumbling along slowly getting deeper and deeper in a pit. Clear and bold thinking should have been made earlier rather than fiddling around the edges. That's all he has done with bucket collections and walks they are just messing around with small amounts to survive day to day. It all shows a lack of vision and a grasp of the bigger picture.
Surely the time has now come for all factions to throw away their differences and get together to save Huddersfield Town from going out of existence
