The continuing delays by Northampton Borough Council over the Sixfields Area Action Plan continue to put the very future of Northampton Town Football Club in jeopardy. Both the Football Club and Supporters have lobbied the Council to move matters forward but despite numerous promises we seem no further forward and the promised dates to make decisions just seem to get further and further away with the probability that a decision may now not be made until the year 2011!

To show those elected to lead Northampton Borough Council that we have had enough of their empty promises and that they are risking the very future of League Football in Northampton, a march has been organised for Monday 9th April before the match with Scunthorpe United for Cobblers Fans along with anyone who believes that Northampton Borough Council need to be more proactive and supportive not only of the Cobblers but the whole of Northampton.

It is essential that we show Northampton Borough Council the strength of feeling that we have about the delays that threaten the future of the Cobblers, so please show your support and make the effort to take part and bring along friends and family and banners, drums, bugles, etc.

If you are unable or do not want to walk from the Guildhall to Sixfields please be at the Guildhall and then make your own way to Sixfields.

£500,000 needed by January

07-Oct-2002

Northampton risk going into administration unless they raise £500,000 before 31 January, reports the BBC.

The club has been up for sale since October last year and so far there has been two attempted takeovers from John Fashanu's company Winners World Wide and Italian lawyer Giovanni Di Stefano both of which have have fallen through.

We firmly believe if we can get through this year, we can operate in future years on a break-even basis said Barry Stonhill the Northampton chairman Now the club has launched an SOS - Save Our Season - appeal - in an effort to raise the necessary funds.

'To lose 105 years of history would be a tragedy. If we don't reach the figure by 31 January the club will likely go into administration, so we are left with a clear view of our target.

'This is our appeal to all businesses, companies, supporters, friends and on-lookers to help us raise this money in any way you can.

'We firmly believe if we can get through this year, we can operate in future years on a break-even basis,' he added.

'Many of the outgoings the club are committed to cease at the end of this season and the club can plan ahead on a much surer footing.'
